Influenza A (H1N1)
Influenza A (H1N1)
Influenza A (H1N1)
Influenza A (H1N1), commonly referred to as swine flu, is a viral respiratory infection that leads to a rapid emergence of symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, headache, runny or stuffy nose, and muscle pain.

There are many combination of influenza A subtypes. However, only AH1N1 and AH3N2 are routinely circulating among humans.

Type A influenza infections can be quite severe and lead to extensive outbreaks and illnesses.

How serious is influenza A?
For those experiencing severe symptoms, a high fever of 38°C or more may last for 7-10 days or even longer. Additionally, there can be serious complications including severe pneumonia, difficulty breathing, rapid breathing, respiratory failure, seizures, and in some cases, death.

Recommended Supplements:

NAC + Vitamin C + Quercetin

N-acetylcysteine (NAC) is effective against influenza A, as studies indicate it hinders viral replication, alleviates symptoms, and possesses anti-inflammatory properties. It operates by interfering with the replication of the virus within cells and lowering the body's inflammatory response to the illness.

Influenza, particularly severe types such as AH1N1, can initiate a "cytokine storm," which is an overwhelming inflammatory reaction that harms the lungs. NAC assists in controlling this inflammation by blocking the activation of inflammatory pathways.

Quercetin and vitamin C may work together to block the Influenza A virus by preventing its entry into cells and reducing inflammation.

Quercetin can bind to the hemagglutinin (HA) protein of the influenza A virus, which the virus uses to attach to and invade host cells. This interaction could limit the virus's ability to infect cells.

Vitamin C serves as a strong antioxidant that can refresh and stabilize quercetin, improving its effectiveness against oxidative stress. Viral infections like influenza can cause oxidative stress in the lungs, and quercetin helps increase the levels of lung antioxidants to lessen this effect.

A combination of NAC with Quercetin and vitamin C is more effective and could potentially shorten the duration of flu symptoms.

Zinc
Zinc has demonstrated the ability to block the function of the virus's RNA polymerase, an enzyme essential for the virus's replication.

Vitamin D
Vitamin D enhances the body's innate immune defense against influenza, including the H1N1 variant. Vitamin D was found to decrease the occurrence of influenza A, while it did not have a significant effect on influenza B.

Andrographis paniculata
Andrographis paniculata has shown promise in combating Influenza A (H1N1) due to its active ingredient, andrographolide, which exhibits antiviral properties. It might function by disrupting the virus's capacity to attach to cells, hindering its replication, and lessening the inflammatory response linked to the infection.

VLife™ Imunee
Ingredients:
Patented elderberry ferment extract enhances macrophage phagocytic activity by 147%, strengthening immune defence.
The researchers found that elderberry inhibited H1N1 infection in people by binding to H1N1, blocking the entry of the virus into cells and preventing infection.
Japanese honeysuckle helps combat respiratory tract infections and viral diseases, including SARS and Avian influenza A(H7N9).
Honeysuckle ferment boosts antioxidant levels by 50% and enhances cellular defence against free radicals.
Sea buckthorn extract helps clear phlegm and soothe coughs.
Monk fruit extract nourishes the lungs, clears phlegm, and eases coughs.
Curcumin + Omega-3 + Quercetin + Vitamin C
Combining curcumin with omega-3 fatty acids appears to be a promising approach to combat Influenza A by addressing both the virus itself and the body's inflammatory response.

Research indicates that curcumin can effectively inactivate the influenza A virus (IAV) and inhibit its replication. It works by disrupting the viral envelope, which stops the virus from infecting healthy cells.

On the other hand, omega-3 fatty acids, such as EPA and DHA, are recognized for their anti-inflammatory effects, which can aid in alleviating the inflammation triggered by viral infections. Additionally, omega-3s can boost the activity of immune cells like macrophages and neutrophils, which play a vital role in defending against infections.

Quercetin and vitamin C might collaborate to prevent the Influenza A virus by obstructing its entry into cells and alleviating inflammation.

Quercetin has the ability to attach to the hemagglutinin (HA) protein of the influenza A virus, which the virus utilizes to connect to and penetrate host cells. This binding may hinder the virus's capacity to infect cells.

Vitamin C acts as a potent antioxidant that can rejuvenate and stabilize quercetin, enhancing its efficacy in combating oxidative stress. Viral infections such as influenza can induce oxidative stress in the lungs, and quercetin aids in boosting the levels of lung antioxidants to mitigate this impact.
Probiotics
Research indicates that probiotics, especially those with mixed strains, could assist in combating Influenza A (H1N1) by regulating the immune system and affecting the infection's outcomes. Probiotics are beneficial for the immune system, and specific gut microbiota along with their metabolites might contribute to how the body reacts to the virus.

Various probiotic strains, particularly from the Lactobacillus family, have demonstrated potential in battling H1N1 influenza in animal research, including Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus acidophilus, and Lactobacillus rhamnosus.
Elderberry
Flavonoid compounds found in black elderberry attach to the H1N1 virions, thereby stopping the virus from latching onto and infiltrating host cells.
Licorice Root
Glycyrrhizin, a substance found in licorice root, exhibits antiviral properties against influenza A (H1N1) by disrupting the initial phases of viral replication.

It hinders the virus's capacity to penetrate human lung cells, probably by modifying the cell membrane and decreasing endocytosis.

By blocking viral polymerase activity, it can diminish the virus's ability to reproduce.

Glycyrrhizin also aids in controlling the "cytokine storm," an overwhelming inflammatory reaction that can lead to significant harm in certain influenza cases.
Olive Leaf Etract + Black Seed Oil
Olive Leaf Extracts, which are abundant in compounds such as elenolic acid and oleuropein, have shown antiviral effects against influenza.

Black seed oil is recognized for its strong antioxidant qualities, which may aid in lowering oxidative stress and enhancing immune function.

By combining their effects, they can offer a dual benefit, since olive leaf extract targets the virus directly, while black seed oil enhances the body's overall defense systems.
Moringa Leaf Extract
Compounds obtained from moringa have demonstrated encouraging antiviral effects against Influenza A viruses. This substance has been found to hinder virus replication inside host cells and safeguard them from harm inflicted by the influenza virus. Besides directly targeting the virus, Moringa A also lowered inflammatory cytokines (signaling proteins that may lead to tissue damage), including TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-1β, which are activated by the influenza infection.
Spirulina
The sulfated polysaccharide known as Calcium Spirulan (Ca-SP), which is present in Spirulina, has the potential to stop the influenza A virus from entering host cells. Research suggests that this blocking effect is particularly strong in the initial phase of infection.
Resveratrol
Resveratrol has demonstrated encouraging antiviral and anti-inflammatory effects against influenza A, hindering viral replication and lessening the severity of the disease.
Green Tea Extract
Green tea catechins, such as EGCG, can attach to the virus's surface protein (hemagglutinin), stopping it from latching onto and penetrating host cells.

EGCG has been noted to inhibit viral RNA production inside infected cells, which is essential for the virus's replication.
